CEO VISIT REINFORCES RELATIONSHIPS WITH TITANVOLT’S PARTNERS IN SOUTH KOREA
Titanvolt CEO Neill Richardson has visited South Korea to meet technology partners and discuss plans for the development and manufacture of next-generation battery systems.
Neill signed a joint investment agreement with Grinergy in Seoul, where he was welcomed by CEO Scott Bang and CFO David Woo Kyung-Yoon. He saw manufacturing facilities first-hand and met other important development partners.
“The agreement with Grinergy reinforces our commitment to work together,” said Neill, who visited a pilot manufacturing facility in Chung Ju, which can produce 40,000 cells per annum and bridges the gap between R&D and production.
Jobs boost
Neill also visited the construction site for a 400MW cell manufacturing facility in Scott Bang’s home town of Yeo Ju. The 5,000 sq m facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025 and will bring 150 skilled jobs to the area.
During the visit, he met representatives of K-WON Technical Solutions, who have a joint development agreement with Titanvolt to develop modular energy storage. “A good relationship with all Titanvolt’s technology and manufacturing partners in South Korea is an essential part of the future success of our business,” added Neill.
Supporting emerging technologies
The joint venture with Grinergy will transform energy storage with innovative lithium titanate oxide (LTO) batteries that are cleaner, safer, more durable and more efficient than existing technology.
As well as developing advanced energy storage systems, the two firms are also developing next-generation battery systems for emerging technologies, such as hydrogen infrastructure, hydrogen-powered buses and mining vehicles.
