HYDROGEN ENTREPRENEUR JO BAMFORD BACKS TITANVOLT ROLE IN 1GW HYSPEED PROJECT
The Executive Chairman of the HydraB Power Group says he is delighted to be working with LTO battery manufacturer Titanvolt on the UK’s green hydrogen mega-project.
Jo Bamford is leading HySpeed, a strategic partnership between HydraB power and UK businesses that will deliver 1GW of green hydrogen capacity by 2030.
The project, which will also create more than 24,000 jobs and cut CO2 emissions by one million tonnes per year, will utilise Titanvolt’s large-scale energy storage systems.
“We are delighted that Titanvolt is part of our alliance of UK businesses ready to power up this new industrial revolution, helping to create thousands of long-term green jobs,” said Bamford, who is the owner of UK bus manufacturer Wrightbus and a board member of JCB.
“Now more than ever the UK needs to stand on its own two feet, especially when it comes to our energy resources. Hydrogen offers us the opportunity to be energy secure and energy independent.”
HySpeed will focus on fuelling the UK’s foundation industries by providing renewable hydrogen via the gas grid. By being selected as the project’s sole battery supplier, Titanvolt will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of the national hydrogen network.
